Friday night two women in our size acceptance community were confronted with Southwest airlines "Passenger of Size Policy." They were traveling together and were asked to purchase two tickets each. They tried to negotiate and explain that three seats between the two of them would be adaquate. Common sense tells you that if they had purchased one extra ticket no other passengers would have had any physical contact with them. Making them purchase two seats each, meant that both had to actually sit next to another passenger. This goes against the Southwest statement that they simply want to make flights comfortable for all passengers.

We have to register our complaints!! Please take the time to write a letter to Southwest:

Customer Relations number (214) 792-4223 8:00 am - 5:00 pm central time
SWA fax number (214) 792-5099 - fax your complaint letters
Reservations number (800)-I-FLY-SWA
Address: Southwest Airlines P.O. Box 36647-1CR, Dallas, TX 75235

I would also recommend sending a cc of your letter to your local congressman/woman. We need to alert our Congressmen/women that a Congressional hearing may in in order on this issue of airlines seating in regards to saftey, comfort and discriminatory practices.
